Hi there...

In the last days I was looking for some product that could replace MNF at
little cost.
Here in Brazil some companies offer many products that has almost the same
"functions" of MNF, but not with the same trustworthiness that MFN offers.
Some features of this product would be considered as potentially attractive
for big companies, that need more than "just a firewall" (the real function
of MNF). They want to know what their users are doing on the Internet, and
they want to have the ability and facilities to control their users with
simplicity. The **REAL-TIME** monitoring allow to know what the users is
typing on MSN messenger, web-site access. Some other features like DNS
server, FTP server, WEB server, **CBQ**, Backup control, Control of the
received and sent e-mails (subject blocks, user blocks, domains) are
provided by this product too, with web based management for all features.

Here we have two such products. These are the most complete of all... You
should see their features and get some of them to added into MNF and **ON
OUR NEW PROJECT**. It would be very nice.

1st - http://www.smart-tec.com.br - "You can see videos there."
2nd - http://www.gatewaydecomunicacoes.com.br

Look, my idea is to bring a new perspective for MNF, that can be most
income-producing to Mandriva and for the customers. We are on a discussion
list, if you disagree on any point, or have suggestions, please post here.
Another good thing will be that if the scripts read the config file of the
servers like "httpd2.conf" "squid.conf" and not "cache" this information in
a general config file as it does actually. So if You made some changes to
these files, these changes can be seen on the web interface.

The people really want a friendly interface, it can be a good change for MNF
purposes. I'm changing the code of the Interface to PHP and I will test it
in few days.
I don't know how to say it, but an evolution is possible.

Highest esteem and regards...
