[Security-Discuss] virus on security-announce

Yes, yes, I get the picture.  Before I reply to another 30 emails 
tomorrow, yes, there was a virus on the security-announce list.  Yes, 
it's amusing that a linux security list gets a virus sent through it.  
No, it's not amusing that they spoofed my address which is the only 
reason why it got through.  Yes, the list is moderated.  Yes, I am a 
moderator.  No, I am apparently not moderated.  Yes, I am requesting 
this be changed.

No, I have no control beyond moderation of the mailing list.  No, I 
don't know who did it apart that it came from a (probably) dynamic ISP 
in Italy it seems.  No, I don't really care to know more.

No, I do not run Windows.  No, I do not use Outlook.  No, I do not send 
out emails unsigned.  Yes, it will be a cold day in hell when I do send 
a message unsigned.

No, please don't send me emails and tell me that either a) I am stupid, 
b) I run windows, or c) I have a virus.  I am quite certain I am none 
of these things.

Please people...  This has likely caused me more grief with bounces, 
anti-virus auto-replies, and generally annoying people informing me of 
pretty silly things (and/or calling me silly names), than the virus on 
the list would ever cause.  After all, those using Linux have nothing 
to worry about, and those running Windows would be pretty damn stupid 
to do so without an up-to-date virus scanner.
