With all due respect, I have never understood why someone who represents
an organization would choose to respond in this fashion. A much better
response, IMHO, would be: 

The answer to your question can be found in the archives this list. 
The URL is <http://mandrake/archive-of-this-list>.
The topic was discussed and addressed a few weeks ago. 

This does two things: 

1. informs the questioner that there is an archive of this mailing list.
2. indicates that one might choose to search the archive before asking a
question,
3. Actually provides the questioner with information they can use. 

Yeah, I know you're busy, etc. etc. But simply creating a template
response similar to the above would provide better and more long-lasting
results.
