If you have system with software raid 1 only , don't upgrade to the new kernel. The system will not reboot because of problem with initrd (I think) Not the right place, I know, but: I don't unstand the install procedure. In the old times a postinstall scriptlet runs /sbin/installkernel -C, but there ist no postinstall anymore in 2.6.12-21mdk Futhermore in 2.6.12-18 the initrd is of type linux Compressed ROM File System dat 2.6.12-21 is gzip compressed data, which contains: ASCII cpio archive ?? Can you point me to some informations about this? mfg,jh -- ##----------------- IT Physik / Universitaet Goettingen -------------- ## Tel: +49 551 399363 FAX: +49 551 399263 ## Post: Dr. J. A.
