If you have system with software raid 1 only , don't upgrade to the
new kernel.
The system will not reboot because of problem with initrd (I think)

Not the right place, I know, but:
I don't unstand the install procedure. In the old times a postinstall
scriptlet runs /sbin/installkernel -C, but there ist no postinstall
anymore in 2.6.12-21mdk
Futhermore in 2.6.12-18 the initrd is of type

 	    linux Compressed ROM File System dat

2.6.12-21 is
 	   gzip compressed data, which contains:
 	   ASCII cpio archive
 	   ??

Can you point me to some informations about this?
