Problem using mondoarchive on Ubuntu 16.04

I'm trying to use Mondo Rescue for the first time.

I'm trying to write the backup to an iSCSI attached LTO-2 tape drive at
/dev/st0

I let the block size default to 32768 and immediately got a SIGABRT :(
