I got to the original box to check if MPT drivers are included in initramfs. This is the output: [root@lemans desa]# zcat /boot/initramfs-`uname -r`.img | cpio -itv | grep mpt -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22 Nov 11 2010 lib/kbd/unimaps/empty.uni drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/scsi/mpt3sa s -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 374976 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/scsi/mpt3sa s/mpt3sas.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 374272 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/scsi/mpt3sa s/mpt2sas.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 33920 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/message/fus ion/mptfc.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 156424 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/message/fus ion/mptbase.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 70536 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/message/fus ion/mptscsih.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 36848 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/message/fus ion/mptspi.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 97376 Jul 14 12:47 lib/modules/2.6.32-696.6.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64/kernel/drivers/message/fus ion/mptsas.ko 141677 blocks Seems they are included (I am a bit lost at this moment with this stuff). If you changed of HW, you need to have the right drivers in your initrd/initramfs. for that you probably need to force load them at backup time.
