I don't know as we don't package for Mint. Use what makes sense wrt your version of Mint and the underlying Ubuntu version.

Like every advertising, it's a lie ;-)
If you use MondoRescue, *and* test that your restoration process is working for you, then in case of problem, you'll be able to restart with your last Disaster Recovery set.
Of course, doesn't imply you shouldn't make backup as well ! It's DR that MondoRescue provides.
