Good morning, Bruno.

Updated the CentOS 6 host, and rerunning.

I don't have any bind mounts on the CentOS 7 host at all, let alone on /proc.  So, maybe I should be looking at this from the other side.  What is being expanded on the #1 ISO image?  I'll also see if I can crank through strace on an nslookup.  I have a funny feeling that the ramdisk issue needs to be sorted out first.

Ok great. On EL7 we may have an issue with missing dynamic libraries or something else. IIRC strace is delivered in the env, so you may be able to use it to discover what gets wrong.

Thanks for the diagnostic. So EL7 is providing a file expanding in a way too large one somehow.
You don't have a bind mount on /proc elsewhere e.g. on your FS on EL7 ? That could explain stuff.
Often that is used for chrootted daemons like named.
