Help with Mondoarchive growth

Hello,

I need help with creating or maintaining a mondoarchive that appears to
grow for some unknown reason to me.

Every quarter I create a mondoarchive of RPMs I use for patching systems.
I placed them into a directory name /RPMS, along with one rather large tar
file.  I created a mondoarchive via the following command:

mondoarchive -I /RPMPS -Oi9s 4480m -d /var/cache/mondo

The result was two ISO images, which I later burned successfully to DVDs.

A few months later, I restore these files via mondorestore GUI.  The
directory is clean at the point of restore so it is empty.  After the
restore, I check the overall size of the directory via "du -sk /RMPS" as
well as "find /RPMS -type f | wc -l" to see size and total number of
files.  I then copy new patches to the /RPMS directory and reduce the
number via repomanage command. When I perform the mondoarchive again to
backup the files the result was 3 ISO files.

As a test, I deleted the /RPMS directory, restored the two DVDs again, then
reran mondoarchive without making any changes to the directory, again the
result was 3 ISOs.   Why?

I tried to use the '-W' switch hoping to remove the /boot and kernel
information, as I am only using this for backup purposes and the boot is
not needed, but that switch did not work for me.

Any reason why I am seeing growth from my archives?
