If you do that all of the critical permissions and ownership settings for files and directories will be lost or corrupted.
MS Windows doesn't know how to handle Unix permissions and ownership settings for files and directories.
Your backup would be totally corrupted and useless if you do this.

I copied it to a Windows system for archiving, and now want to extract it as a file image of the system on that windows machine.

Seems like all the files are there, and an index of all-files.

Is there an easy way to do this?
