pbdistrocheck is using /etc/pb/pb.yml (or pb.conf if older version) to "guess" your distro.
it's based on what is returned by a conf file such as /etc/redhat-release.
You can mimic say what is provided by rocky linux e.g. and create your entry (this file is just a template made for that, copy commented of the "real" one at /usr/share/pb/pb.yml)

Indeed, another way is to hardcode stuff and force a centos type of distro.
