Morphix 0.4 NIC problem

Hello!

I installed Morphix 0.4 (and 0.4-1) on my harddisk a few days ago, but 
I'm still confused with following problem:
When I boot Morphix and then log in, the interface eth0 is up, but 
without IP address, netmask, and gateway. Some seconds later a message 
appears on the console: "Operation failed".
This happens both with a Realtek 8139 and a 3Com 905C NIC. I installed 
Morphix on two PCs, on both I have the same problem.
When I perform "ifdown -a" and "ifup -a" eth0 is up again and configured 
correctly - it works fine.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
