It was a part of a bigger post, but that was long ago and I know how to
get around it.

I forgot to copy the boot.img. I ended up doing it different. I pulled
the LightGUI.mod out of 0.4-1 and added it to the 0.4-1b base and added
my other stuff to that.

Actually the second go around didn't fair much better. I ran out of ram
because the stuff I was going to have copied to /root was too big.
128MB. I moved that stuff to a /myfiles dir on the cd. The .deb
didn't install so I removed it. When I ran out of ram X and xfce
couldn't load into memory. I got dumped to a command line.

So, after moving the personal files, removing the .deb, and stripping
one of the minimods out, it boots OK and I can get to the personal
files. Now I'm at 343MB. On that laptop I got sound to work. W00t!
Curious about the minimod, I loaded the rescue and devel minimods, but I
couldn't see any different tools avail. in the app menu. I didn't have
time to check at the cmd line.
