Thanks for you email, feedback is always welcome, glad you found the the
How To helpful.

The mkisofs command on page 3 of the how to is :-
mkisofs -pad -l -r -J -v -V "CD-Label" -b base/boot.img -c base/boot.cat
-hide -rr     \
          -moved -o /mnt/hda1/morphing/NewIso.iso 
/mnt/hda1/morphing/tmp/iso/
If you include the  \ the command is treated as one continous command. I
could not include that whole command on one line, in the document, but if
you include the  \, exactly as writtern the command should work.

When mounting a loopback filesystem, AFAIK, it can only be mounted as
read-only. So the copying and new image making is needed. (I cc'ed this to
the morphix-user mail list and somebody will shout if I'm wrong)
