Patching problem

Hi. I have downloaded the kernel 2.4.21 from kernel.org. I have apply the 
patch ebtables-brnf-2_vs_2.4.21.diff and when I run make xconfig I get the 
following error:

How can I solve it? It only happens if I apply the ebtables patch. If I run 
make xconfig with the original kernel sources it works fine.

It's quite urgent, please.
