Hi all, We recently upgraded our firewall kernels (based on 2.4.20 with iptables patch-o-matic and ebtables, among other patches) from patch-o-matic 20030422 (which was a snapshot that proved very stable) to the latest release, 20030912. Since then, we have experienced serious problems with bridging, where the system would hang a few seconds after bringing up a bridge device. Normal operation without bridging looks OK. The nature of the hang made it very difficult to diagnose the problem. It seems to be in an interrupt, as reported by LKCD, and we could not get any debugging output, not even registers. We haven't managed to produce a crash dump yet, but we're working on it. We were running ebtables-brnf_vs_2.4.21.diff.gz with the arpt_mangle bug fix, but even after upgrading to ebtables-brnf-3_vs_2.4.22.diff.gz, we are still seeing the same problem. Removing the ebtables patch allows the system to boot and run normally. In order to compile the 2.4.20 kernel with the 2.4.22 patch, we had to replace net/bridge/br_input.c with the version from 2.4.22, but since we had same problem before with the 2.4.21 patch, we don't think that's related. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, or what we could do to assist with diagnosis?
