redhat Enterprise 3 and ebtables

Hello,

	I'm rather new at being a linux admin. I'm trying to set a
bridging firewall using RedHat linux Enterprise WS version 3 Update 1. It
is a vanilla install. I've tried various ebtables patches but I get a
reject message for some parts during the install.

System info:
# uname -a
Linux lect6.cs.ucdavis.edu 2.4.21-9.EL #1 Thu Jan 8 17:24:12 EST 2004 i686 
i686 i386 GNU/Linux


These are the patches I tried (using --dry-run)
 
ebtables-brnf-2_vs_2.4.21.diff.gz  ebtables-brnf-4_vs_2.4.24.diff.gz
ebtables-brnf-2_vs_2.4.22.diff.gz  ebtables-brnf-5_vs_2.4.24.diff.gz
ebtables-brnf-3_vs_2.4.21.diff.gz  ebtables-brnf_vs_2.4.21.diff.gz
ebtables-brnf-3_vs_2.4.22.diff.gz  ebtables-brnf_vs_2.4.22.diff.gz
ebtables-brnf-3_vs_2.4.23.diff.gz

I followed the directions on the webpage

patch -p1 < ebtables-brnf-3_vs_<version>

Any ideas?
