Couldn't load standard target ?

Hey,

I'm trying to get 'ebtables' to work, but all I get is:

| # ebtables
| ebtables v2.0.2:ebtables.c:208:--BUG--:
| Couldn't load standard target

Thing is, i'm running ebtables on an AMD Elan with about 2MB of
flash-memory, and no space to add tools like gdb or strace.

During linking with the crosscompiler I get this message, and I think
this is /very/ relevant:

| ebtables.o(.text+0xa6): In function `find_match':
| : the 'strcmp' function supports only C|POSIX locales

But the weird thing is, that at that moment, my locale /is/ POSIX/C
while under normal circumstances it is UTF-8.

Another weird thing is that the linker only 'complains' about this at
that very strcmp(), not the one in find_target or find_table, etc.
And it does produce a binary ...

I'm using a 2.4.20 kernel, with the two patches applied & all
'ebtables' options enabled in the kernel configuration. iptables &
netfilter is turned off completely, but that should not matter, if I
understood the website correctly. ebtables should be all I need?

Any ideas?

Regards,
Sander.
