Thanks :).
Small perl scripts are a nice thing for processing text outputs.

On my systems the iptables executable is in /sbin/iptables.
Since the tools are related they probably belong to the same
directory.

The FHS v2.3 states:

Utilities used for system administration (and other root-only commands)
are stored in /sbin, /usr/sbin, and /usr/local/sbin. /sbin contains binaries
essential for booting, restoring, recovering, and/or repairing the system in
addition to the binaries in /bin.

So the question is:
- Are arptables/ebtables essential for booting, restoring, recovering, and/or repairing the system ?
- I'm not sure about the answer ;-).
