Hello *
Goal; I would like to have a bridging fw between some public accessable
Desktops in a Library and an institute network with a Web proxy
Users of the Library should be able to get:
Access to external WEB via another Firewall in the institute
network running a SQUID / iptables
They need access to a Samba home from the same server in order
to be able to Login on some PC's in order to use GUI based
Library catalogues
Questions:
1. Samba: Can i build rules for SMB /netbios/ Samba on an bridging firewall
with ebtables or do i need to run a combination of iptables / ebtables ?
If so, by chance anyone has examples ?
2. As far as i unsderstand i can build rules for http and DCHP
even if both services run on another server, correct ?
ASCII-Art:
FW/Proxy Internet<->some trusted institute PC's<>-bridgewall<->untrusted Client
untrusted should be able to use: http, smb / netbios, dhcp to get an
IP from an DHCP Server in the trusted net ...
TIA
Michael
