I am trying to change just the first three octets of all MAC addresses that begin with 01:00:5e to 00:00:5e for some multicast manipulation that I am trying to do but unfortunately I have not been having any luck.

I can change all of the MAC addresses that start with 01:00:5e to one specific address but I cannot change just the beginning.

The command I am typing is:

ebtables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -d 01:00:5e:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00 -j DNAT --to-destination 00:00:5e:00:00:00/FF:FF:FF:00:00:00

Is this correct or am I typing something wrong? Is this even possible with current version ebtables?

Thanks,
Joe
