query on ebtables filter table error

Hi,
I am new to this team. I have a query on below error when I execute
ebtables on my linux embedded device.

root@wglng-2:/usr/lib32# ebtables-legacy -t filter -A FORWARD -i eth6 -p
802_1Q --vlan-encap 0x888e -j ACCEPT

*The kernel doesn't support the ebtables 'filter' table.*

Is there any patch or configuration settings available to fix this issue?
