Kernel(2.4.21) crash at arch XScale-IXP425

I have a firewall install kernel (2.4.21, path ebtables), 
arch is XScale-IXP425,

build a bridge :
    brctl addbr bri
    brctl addif bri eth0
    brctl addif bri eth1
    ifconfig addbr 192.168.8.9 netmask 255.255.255.0 up 

After I ping bridge(bri) from eth0 use big package (e.g 1600), and then next 
application (e.g sshd) will make kernel crash. 

but ping use little package( below MTU) seems no this problem.

someone can help me?
