Commenting only from a Standards perspective (I represent IBM to IEEE 
POSIX), I think
that NGPT should lean towards doing whatever the 1003.1-2001 standard 
requires
in this area. Since .1b was in the scope of things done in the .1-2001 
revision,
this should probably meet your needs.

I do know that Ulrich Drepper (glibc) looks to .1-2001 for direction in 
this area, as well.

Hello,

The linuxthreads add-on package to glibc provides support for some 
Posix.1b functions (timers and aio) in the form of a separate library 
"rt". However, this library has a dependence on linuxthreads.

Would it be possible to include the "rt" library as part of NGPT ? Does 
anyone have any ideas on how this functionality can be built on top of 
NGPT ... ?

Is NGPT moving towards becoming an add-on package to glibc (like 
linuxthreads) ?
