NGPT Patches for Linux Kernel 2.4.20

Hi 
I have compiled NGPT 2.2.0 on Deabian 3.0r1 kernel 2.4.20,  with gcc 2.95.4
and glibc 2.2.5 .
I was able to finish the make successfully, but when i run a make test it
says kernel does not support NGPT.
It will be of great help, if anyone could give some info about what patch I
need to apply to the kernel to make NGPT aware.
