operf equivalent of --save?

Hello, Is there any equivalent of the opcontrol --save for the operf command? I am trying to measure changes in the cpu usage over time as my system proceeds through different phases. Right now, I'm killing operf in a bash script and restarting it with a different output directory, but this seems somehow wasteful and inelegant compared with the previous interface.
