OK. I tried the old version from yum repository. Now, I installed the latest version 1.0.0 using CFLAGS="-m64" CXXFLAGS="-m64" ./configure --prefix=/home/mahmood/oprofile-1.0.0/built --with-java=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.71.x86_64 --libdir=/usr/local/lib64makemake install The output is more handy than the opcontrol. [root@tiger exe]# ocount -e CPU_CLK_UNHALTED,RETIRED_INSTRUCTIONS ./bzip2_base.amd64-m64-gcc44-nn spec_init Tested 64MB buffer: OK! Events were actively counted for 36.6 seconds. Event counts (actual) for /home/mahmood/spec-cpu2006-x86_64/benchspec/CPU2006/401.bzip2/exe/bzip2_base.amd64-m64-gcc44-nn: Event Count % time counted CPU_CLK_UNHALTED 107,874,668,483 100.00 RETIRED_INSTRUCTIONS 108,750,639,154 100.00 Thanks.
