Two possibilities I can think of:

-- perhaps iwconfig reports the wrong speed; is your measured transfer
   faster or slower than 2 MB/s?

-- perhaps it is a firmware version issue.

In either case, I'd suggest taking this to David Gibson's mailing list
for the orinoco_cs driver, where you are more likely to get a useful
answer to your question.
