Help in configuring a new card

Hello listers,
       I have this GSM/GPRS modem PCMCIA card from AudioVox. I am not able
to install it on my laptop using the 'cardmgr'. I have updated the
/etc/pcmcia/config file with the information provided bt 'cardctl config',
ie.. the card name and manfid. following is the message i recieve in the
/var/log/messages

cardmgr[3581]: initializing socket 1
cardmgr[3581]: socket 1: GPRS Modem
cardmgr[3581]: executing: 'modprobe serial_cs'
kernel: serial_cs: RequestIO: No more items
cardmgr[3581]: get dev info on socket 1 failed: Resource temporarily
unavailable

       How do i get around this problem ? I have no idea whats going wrong,
and thier does'nt seems to be much help in PCMCIA-HOWTO.
