NIS users + local groups

Hello All,

I ran into a problem with 'usermod' utility. For
some reason it checks that the user record must be in
/etc/passwd even when I change the list of secondary
groups for the user.
Here is how I run usermod:

#usermod -G group1,group2 user1

user1 is a NIS user. group1 and group2 are both local
groups. The error message I am getting is:
"usermod: user user1 is not found in /etc/passwd"

I tried adding +::: records to both /etc/passwd and
/etc/groups without success.

Here is what my /etc/nssswitch.conf looks like:
passwd: files nis
shadow: files nis
group: files nis
hosts: files dns
netgroup: files nis

I believe it is a bug in 'usermod' utility.

Thanks,
Dzmitry Zhemchuhou
