S/Key question (was: Info: prepare for release 4.0.16))

I have qustion to S/Key users related to this change.

Is realy neccessary getpass() with echo enabled when S/Key support is used 
? If not and if can be used system avalaible getpass() this will allow 
remove libshadow_getpass() from shadow source tree.
