Build Documentation:
Download linux-2.6.8-rc3 from ftp://ftp.kernel.org
Apply this patch directly on top of 2.6.8-rc3 kernel
Or clone my bk:
bk clone bk://dsaxena.bkbits.net/linux-2.6-ds
Edit top-level Makefile to point to your toolchain, then do:
make board_defconfig
make zImage
- Loads of IXP2000 updates:
o IXDP2400 now boots properly on both master and slave
o IXDP2400/2800 code separated out
o I2C driver ported forward (merged upstream)
o IXP2000 watchdog driver from Lennert Buytenhek (merged upstream)
- Still needs testing:
- PMC cards on IXDP2x01 platforms
- ttyS[12] ports on IXDP2x01 platforms
- IXDP2800 (builds but my board won't talk to my network)
Notes:
- Don't even attempt to use the Intel SDK with this kernel. The
kernel still needs some stability testing and the SDK has not
been moved fwd to 2.6 by Intel. Do _NOT_ ask on the linux-arm
mailing lists about using the SDK. If you want to know when
Intel will move to 2.6, ask them as only they can provide that
information.
- Currently we just do a standard 3:1 kernel/user VM split. Once
Intel has the SDK running on 2.6 and we require 2:2 or 1:3,
I will switch it over. Until then, 3:1 is good.
- If you have an IXP2000 system of any type, please pound on
this kernel. I would like to push the code upstream as soon
as 2.6.8 is out and Linus' tree is open for new submissions.
