Once again, this topic probably doesn't belong here, but... The linux kernel is exhibiting correct behavior, if only because accepting DNS replies from a different IP address would open the door to all sorts of DNS attacks, where a third party computer could sniff for DNS requests and send erroneous replies, possibly for use in phishing or other attacks.
