HCTL-2032 Driver for S3C2410

Dear All,
                   I am newbie to Device Drivers and i am using Samsung
S3C2410 board to which linux-2.4.18 is ported, now i need to write a devide
driver for HCTL-2032 which is interfaced to the IDE connector of the S3C2410
board, even i referred some books also but i am not getting any idea for
writing dirver for an external IC interface.Please help us how to proceed
and write the driver it would be great pleasure.
