Compiling a cross-compiler

Hi,

This is my first post so go easy on me.

I'm finally ready to try and get Gamecube Linux up and running. I'm
trying to setup a cross compiler to use with the NFS root image
available from the GC Linux website. I came across some instructions at
http://voidpointer.org/gc-linux/cross_compiler.html but it seems I'm
missing the development headers to allow gcc to be compiled. Is there
somewhere I can get a copy of the correct development headers for the
NFS Linux distribution? I'm trying to build the gcc cross compiler on
my Mac OS X laptop.

Is it correct that a standard PowerPC Linux setup can create binaries
for use with Gamecube Linux without messing about with cross compilers?

Thanks,

Jim
