I've missed it because of an evil null sgidefs.h in my local cross environment :-( Thanks for pointing it out. The pread/write stuff of the SH port just includes the mips one and now the mips implementation uses more mips specific things like sgidefs.h. I'll send a patch using the original mips implementations to the GNU libc list.
