Cromwell 2.31 release candidate

Hi all,

as discussed in monday's developers' meeting I've made a start on
releasing Cromwell 2.31. I've put a tag in CVS on the version I
regard as stable. It includes the memory model changes and the FATX
filename bugfix, but no new xcodes. It also still uses the old
compression method.

The main reason for releasing this version is the changed memory model
which solves some boot problems with 2.6 kernels (and also large 2.4
kernel images).

I've tested it on a 1.0 box with a native install and a FATX install.
Other tests are welcome. Please inform me of any serious error you
encounter.

Known bugs are
- - too many usb devices will make cromwell hang.
- - 5 to 10 seconds delay may occur between selecting an icon and
booting linux, due to usb deinitialization.

To test it, run

cvs -z3 -d:ext:[email protected]:/cvsroot/xbox-linux co -r
cromwell-2-31 cromwell

and compile.

I'd like to release it on Monday if I don't get any serious error
reports.
