They are only equivalent if the drive letter is currently mapped to that
same place using IoCreateSymbolicLink().  By default, only D: is mapped
(typically to either the CD-ROM drive or the directory containing the
current XBE); the rest must be mapped by an XBE.  EvoX only has a drive C:
because it creates one pointing to partition 2.

In Windows NT, and the Xbox, drive letters are nothing more than "ramdisk"
symbolic links to the NT equivalent of /dev pseudofiles.
