Dunno - The GentooX developer saw this a few days back - it compiles without 
error for me, so I'm not sure what you can derive from that.  I'm frankly not 
sure why it is, but there's no obvious reason for a code size increase of any 
great magnitude.

He believed it was related to the glibc and gcc version he was running.
