I think having two files will be very confusing and error prone and source 
of problems for users. Developers might understand... but users no.
Also, if not synchronized, will lead to different behaviour on different 
systems... not good.

So... I would rather not have this complication. The grub syntax is more of 
a general-purpose syntax intented for booting general-purpose systems. Grub 
knows how to boot linux/windows/whatever and follows the standard PC 
sequence. If that functionality is needed in cromwell, we could just bundle 
a patched grub inside it.

Looking at the source code for the current cromwell, the syntax I proposed 
will be no problem for current systems (they will boot the last entry, which 
will be the only one on most systems). Newer systems can have the extra 
functionality if needed and there will be only one configuration file to 
work on.

So, there will be backwards compatibility and simplicity for users.
