Adjust the video ram then - it's shared, so you can adjust this by passing
the mem=<x>M to the linux kernel (Might not be exactly right, have a quick
google to confirm). What ISNT used by the kernel is available as video
ram, so just setting mem=50MB will give you 14MB video ram.

Just had another look at this - I haven't looked at the HDTV section for a
while and yes, they are programmed differently. I'm not 100% sure why. I
dumped those color scaling registers from the settings the MS bios uses,
without entirely understanding them. I believe, from memory, that I found
colors on 480p were off if you used the same settings.  Feel free to try
cloning the 720p/1080i color scaling registers for 480p also, and let me
know if it works OK for 480p.  If it does, I will import these settings
for all the hdtv modes.
