It has not been fixed.

I had a quick look at it, but being someone who runs my xboxes native, I lack 
both the time and the determination to get it working ;)

I suspect locking is one issue - for preemptibleness etc, this needs a lot 
more care, but even with a non-preemptable 2.6 kernel it still doesn't work, 
so there's more to it.

I started off along this route.  What I tried to do was to integrate the FATX 
code into the fat/vfat driver assembly - half the work of the existing patch 
appears to have been a s/fat/fatx effort - which hardly seems a particularly 
good use of time.  However, the fat driver is a can of worms, in my opinion, 
and I quickly lost sight of the big picture.  Perhaps you'll have more 
luck :)
