Hello Xbox-Linux developers, Next to the announcement today that FreeBSD has been ported to the Xbox, I'm also proud to announce that I've ported Raincoat to FreeBSD and probably NetBSD. The code hasn't been thoroughly tested; Rink Springer was able to backup my Xbox's ROM and the contents seemed rather familiar (we could find strings from Cromwell 2.40). The reason writing has not been tested, is because the Xboxes Rink and I own both use the TSOP and don't have a modchip or such. The patch is located at: http://test.g-rave.nl/junk/raincoat-0.7-bsd.diff This patch also fixes a -SEGV because of a faulty open(2) catch (open returns a negative value on failure, not a 0). It also makes the 'Must be run as root' message a little more meaningful, because on BSD systems the mem(4) device is optional. Yours, -- Ed Schouten <[email protected]>
