--CE+1k2dSO48ffgeK Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi all I have been looking into some of the newer exploitsthat are available on=20 the xbox softmodding scene, to work out what parts are open and=20 distributable. As you all may know, the Ndure exploit is the most recent=20 and stable of the font exploits. The fonts themselves are actually from=20 the UEEE package, which is freely available, as the font sources are=20 included. However, as you also might know, this exploit only works with=20 files from the 4920 dashboard, which are included in many of the various=20 softmod installers that are available in the wild. The UEEE package also includes a Windows executable, which takes files=20 =66rom a 5960 dashboard, and modifies them to be like those from a 4920=20 dashboard, which is exploitable. Note that this only patches files in=20 the xodash directory, and then allows the user to use xonlinedash.xbe as=20 xboxdash.xbe in the root directory of the C partition. After reading about all of this, I am now wondering whether it would be=20 legal to make a similar patch for Linux, and be distributable? If not, I=20 would be interested in some ideas as to why the windows patch is legally=20 distributable, whereas a Linux patch isn't. Thoughts welcome. --=20 Luke Yelavich GPG key: 0xD06320CE=20 (http://www.themuso.com/themuso-gpg-key.txt) Email & MSN: [email protected] ICQ: 18444344 Jabber: [email protected] --CE+1k2dSO48ffgeK Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEdZ3jjVefwtBjIM4RAnTAAKCO7k7RhM7CmvEPJ50TadAuTty28gCfVLFL ZRDjqwOwkXBkpqLp7O2fzOQ= =W8EG -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --CE+1k2dSO48ffgeK-- ------------------------------------------------------- All the advantages of Linux Managed Hosting--Without the Cost and Risk!
