acpi - reboot

Hi,
I'd like to solve some problems that i'm having with
my Toshiba laptop.=20
I have a Toshiba Sattelite A75-S229 with Debian
intalled on it. The problem is that my machine can't
reboot no more sice i intalled Debian, only shutdown.
So, everytime when i ask to reboot, i have to turn the
power off on power button and then turn on again, to
get the restart.
I'm using the kernel 2.6.8-2 i686-smp.
I have acpi intalled by synaptic, but the problem
continuing.
Can somebody help?=20
