Hi, This installation of a Brother MFC-5840CN network printer/scanner/fax/card-reader has been OK. (see separate details in the linux printing Brother forum) However there is a problem. Under M$ Windoze OpenOffice a test print with a frame at the page margin with about 3 mm spacing to paper edge prints correctly. Under SUSE 10.0 Linux with OpenOffice the printing is displaced upwards and to the left (off the paper). This can be compensated by defining the top margin as 2.50 cm and the left margin as 1.0 cm, right margin 0.35cm and bottom margin as 0.00 cm. The bottom margin is still about 2.5 cm from the bottom etdge of the paper. Selected paper size A4 is correct. This imposes a very ugly on-screen display of the page. Another symptom: The selection of paper tray (1 or 2) as no effect. It always uses tray 1. Under M$ Windoze the tray selection works. I suspect that the problem is with the Ghostscript; version 8.15rc1-29 is installed. Or is it the BrotherMFC5840CN.ppd ? Previouly I used an Epson Colour Stylus 600 without this problem. Someone else on another forum also reported the displacement problem. Any suggestions ?
