[Printing-user-general] Feeds paper, doesn't print. Epson Stylus C45

  Hi,

I'm on Debian testing (etch), all gutenprint, foomatic, cups relevant packages seem to be installed. Thru the web interface I can add my printer, it detects it, shows, gives me a list of drivers to choose (I chose C45, but also C44 and C40UX), and when I send "print test page", the printer loads the paper, acts like if it's printing (the print head does exactly what any print head does, goes from side to side on the paper, screaming like hell =), ok, then for my surprise it doesn't print anything. Mtink shows 34% of blank ink, and around 99% for the others, it looks right, since I just changed the color cart.
I read somewhere it could be lpr sending wrong options, and that Epson printers would just do that, giving no feedback or error msg about wrong print options.
How do I solve this? Is there anything I can do to properly configure it (which options)? Thru the command line? On the cups web interface itself? I didn't change anything, just paper size, A4.
