CUPS and esc codes

Hi,
  I have a simple text file that has a few esc codes that will change the font
for a few lines. The exact same file will print perfect in DOS and AIX but with
Linux (lpr filename) it does not do it, and shows the actual esc code.

 Any ideas on this?
