Since I couldn't remember your name, I just turned off anoncvs and figured you'd turn up sooner or later ;) About which - I awoke one day to find port people pegging the line. Apparently some event in freebsd (a new release?) recently triggered lots of folks to build the port. Unfortunately, as we added a bunch of PPD and other data to CVS not too long ago, this added up to a bit of a problem. > The download section seems to deny downloads to wget and fetch Yes, these agents (wget in particular) are popular with misguided users who attempt to download the entire website. While this is a silly thing to do, I wouldn't mind except that the default recursive snarf settings in this program are a bit rude - there is no inter-get delay, for example. Please use wget -U 'FreeBSD-foomatic-port" or the like; then we can take affirmative measures to keep your use working in the future. Please also work with Till to make sure you are downloading an appropriate minimum set of data. Probably the snapshots qualify. Ideally freebsd would provide a mirror of whatever it needs from our download area for its users rather than all port users downloading from us. We aren't particularly set up to provide this magnitude of distribution. -- Grant Taylor Embedded Linux Consultant http://www.picante.com/
