I ended up returning it back to Amazon. 
What a waste... Such a great printer, maybe the best in its category. Canon will never stop to amaze me with its stupid choices when it comes to Software.

Yes, unfortunately at present no GM models have been added to gutenprint. It is theoretically possible, quite a backlog at the moment but I will see what I can do in June.Best regards,Gernot Hassenpflug
